WARNING: TEEN SUICIDE

Suicide is one of the leading reasons for deaths in teens or young adults. It's become such a punishment for teenagers. People have worried and gravely misinterpreted mental illness. Shrouded in superstition, it has prevented the victims from seeking guidance. And because mental illness usually strikes when teens are exploring their world, it can be challenging to recognize.

Researchers have made enormous discoveries in recognizing the signs of mental illness. Almost all studies recommend a natural or physical cause. Victims can be successfully managed by medication and psychotherapy.

With the help and assistance of the family, teens can be admitted into a treatment facility. They can be examined for many possible physical and emotional cause of their illness and interviewed by psychiatrist or psychologist.

Dangerous mask!

How had we missed all the warning signs? The truth is that sometimes the symptoms are so much a part of the person's behavior that often regarded as natural.

Teens who suffer from depression often attempt suicide after enduring defeat or stressful occurrence. Many of them talk about suicide, death, or the desire to be in a "safer place." Some make unsuccessful struggles that are ignored as cries for attention. Only rarely are these attempts perceived as a sign of hopelessness and taken seriously.

Sometimes, parents, teachers or doctors must initiate the conversations so that teens will feel secure enough to speak about their emotional, and physical pain.

The American Psychologist Association advises that teens should be asked outright how they feel and if they have ever thought about harming themselves. Other can explore the teen's opinions about friends and school.

HONEST TO GOODNESS

Girls Vs Society : How Girls Lose their True Selves

Changes and challenges in life are overwhelming the development of girls during puberty stage - from a simple life of childhood to a more complex and broad life of adulthood. They are losing their real individuality. Life of girls is more concern with their weight. They want to be perfect because of their fear of rejection.

Girls are being asked to have a particular choice: to be authentic or to be loved.

Being authentic is being real. It is accepting the truth concerning herself - believing what had happened and what is currently happening.

If they choose to be loved, they will abandon their true selves. If to be authentic, they are to be abandoned by society.

When girls reach puberty, they choose to be loved. Thus they prefer to be socially accepted. They are being trained to be kind rather than to be honest. Society identifies a bitch as someone who speaks freely. Girls are being trained to be a lady and to be visually accepted by the mainstream. Not being attractive is equivalent to being scorned.

In early adolescent, girls learn how important appearance is in defining social acceptability. For girls to success, being attractive is a necessity. The culture dictates girls to be feminine.

Girls can fight back. Parents may protect them except they have limited power. Girls must understand their culture. Being smart is the answer. Being wise will holds their authentic individuality.

INTO THE RAGING STORM

Girls from Latency to Puberty

Girls in age 6 - 7 are what Freud described as the Stage of Latency. Girls in this period are the most adventurous. They are not reluctant to try everything. They don't mind what others will think of their actions and behaviors. They have absolute freedom.

But when they enter the adolescent stage, everything seems to shift. They're like fighting themselves in a raging storm.

Girls age between 7 - 11 struggles during this period. Lights are turning off. Glasses are shattering. Leaves are falling. Every girl is trying to survive in this so-called massive storm that she is encountering.

During this battle, the wholeness of girls is being fragmented into pieces.  Problems encountered can have an enormous connection in their adult lives. This is one of the reasons, in order to help a person, why most psychologist relay on the childhood memories of the person. During the adolescence years, girls underwent a drastic change - physical, mental, emotional, and social change.

Choice plays a vital key here - a choice that may lead them to the brighter side, but if left unsolved will result in greater chaos. So before the storm, make sure everybody is prepared. During the storm, everybody should be intact. And after, everybody should help.

For people to experience and appreciate the untouchable beauty of Alaska, traversing along Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is a requirement.

So here are some evidence making the Wrangell-St. Elias a discrete park. The success story of the park dated back in 1979 when the United Nations acknowledged the park as a World Heritage Site for the spectacular glacier and icefield landscapes. The place is a haven to the Nation’s massive glacial system, nine of the 16 highest US peaks, North America’s biggest piedmont glacier, and longest tidewater glacier and the world’s deepest interior valley glacier (Hetter, 2016). Furthermore, designated as a National Park in 1980 because of its striking features. This authenticates as the largest national park of the United States.

Millions of people visit the park each year making it endangered. To preserve and conserve Nations’ natural resources and cultural heritage like the Wrangell-St. Elias, the US Government, Department of

Interior, created the National Park Service. The mission of NPS is to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of national parks for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of future generations (Nps.gov, 2019). Through DOI and NPS, the community will stimulate the creation of new enterprises.

The government has done something to protect and save our environment, for people to experience such diverse scenery like the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. In light of the article cited above, should not people consider an opportunity at discovering more?

TUTOR FOR HIRE

"Education is the only treasure we can ever give to our children", this saying is very much popular in the Philippines. We give importance to education because it is one of the sources for real happy life. It is one of the key factors in molding one's personality, value & attitude.

Over the years, the education system continues to evolve and unfold more discoveries as our society changes. So in order for the parents to cope up with those changes and to keep their children in grasp with their dreams, they engaged a private tutor.

Tutors are extensions of our education process. They go beyond the devotion given to a student and a regular classroom. Regular teachers tend to divide the attention and time amongst all their pupils hence some students often get mislaid in the crowd. Having a tutor can maximize the learning efficiency of the child. They work based on the child's pace and weak points, making the whole process of learning more effective. They can easily build rapport with the child and help him to express himself. Most children do not feel comfortable asking questions in front of their peers because they fear of what their peers might think of them. This situation may results in dismay during the test and exam as problems left answered. A tutor is able to work more closely and get to know his student better, helping him to boost his student self-esteem.
Students perform poorly in a certain subject due to conflict with their teachers. There are some scenarios when a subject was being taught in a hurried manner. Topics are taught within a specific time frame. Teachers are pressured in marking deadlines and reports that a school needed from them. So how will we expect a child to learn when his teacher lacks enthusiasm in helping him? As tutors are passionate about what they do, it is easy to choose the right one that is best suited to the child's need, both personality and learning style. A tutor can adjust his approach and technique depending on his student's ability, capacity, and strength. They work on a suitable timetable, allowing sessions to be structured and benefits both the students and parent the time to relax and bond each other during the evening.

So for parents to ensure the future of the child and for the child to lift his marks and achieve greater results, having a tutor is a great tool we can have for our study kit. It is a one-step forward in achieving our child's dream.
